Climate Action during CORONA ERA
When the whole world was under quarantine and everything was under halt, we at CCRI kept our spirits high and were focused on our work. We worked on some serious issues to bring on the table the gravity of the topic, the actual need of hour.
There were several events which we wanted to conduct and spread the word to protect and nurture our earth. We had planned to celebrate the Earth Day and Environment Day with the students from various schools followed by lectures, various competitions and to fill our youth with energy so that they can further help the earth to be secure hands.

The month of April is a very special month for environemntalists as the whole world celebrates Earth Day. World Earth Day 2020 was quite a special event as it was the 50th Anniversary and the theme was “Climate Action”. Since, we couldn’t hold any event, but we wanted to reach our stakeholders so, we made a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BrfBCWmmtk) and a short message on Earth Day and COVID-19.
In the month May, we published an e-Newsletter on COVID-19 and Climate Change.
The month of June marks the celebration of World Environment Day. World Environment Day Campaign 2020 was held in collaboration with India International Centre(IIC). Our CEO, Mrs.(Dr.) Malti Goel in delivered a special lecture on Post COVID-19: Future of Biodiversity (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF5WJ5-aY3I&t=551s) to mark the celebration. Welcome address was given by Shri V. S. Verma, Ex-Member CERC. With the outbreak of pandemic, the environment is being badly degraded due to gallons and gallons of biomedical waste being dumped, to highlight this problem; we came up with an e-Newsletter on Biomedical Waste and COVID-19.
