Environmental education is a process that allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. As a result, individuals develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and have the skills to make informed and responsible decisions.
The climatic change has become a global concern over the last few decades. Besides, these climatic changes affect life on the earth in various ways. These climatic changes are having various impacts on the ecosystem and ecology. Due to these changes, a number of species of plants and animals have gone extinct.
Renewable energy is considered energy that is constantly being replaced such as wood, vegetable matter, and trash. Green energy 's main focus is to use sources that can cut down on pollution. Some of these sources of power and energy are Biomass energy, geothermal energy, hydropower, nuclear energy, solar energy, wind energy and tidal energy.
About CCRI
The Climate Change Research Institute (CCRI) is not-for-profit organization registered under Registration Society Act 1860*. It has a mission is to inform youth in schools and colleges about the environment, ecosystem changes and consequences of climate change through awareness and capacity building on topics of scientific & societal interest such as Energy, Health, Water and Air pollution among others.
Vision & Mission
In the current millennium climate change has become one of the greatest threats for humanity. The Earth’s average temperature has increased by more than 1oC from the pre industrial era and is increasing further. Changing environment and ecology due to climate change are impacting food security, water supply, agriculture, energy, transportation, Infrastructure, human health, and sustainable growth. According to studies almost 1800 intense weather events have occurred across the globe in 2018. The safe limit is set to be 1.5oC by 2050.
The Climate Change Research Institute (CCRI) has been founded with a vision to promote understanding of climate change, mentoring and developing human resource capabilities for finding solutions. The ultimate goal of climate change adaptation and mitigation is to reduce accumulation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the atmosphere and reduce carbon footprints, while addressing.
