Workshop on Recent Advances in Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Technology, Policy and Regulations: Towards a Net-Zero Strategy

ACBCCUS – 2025 organized by the Climate Change Research Institute (CCRI) from 11th to 13th June 2025, turn out to be excellent awareness and capacity building workshop for addressing climate change concerns. In her Introduction address Dr. Malti Goel, President CCRI and Former Adviser, Ministry of Science & Technology said awareness of climate change and its solutions through communications, workshops and education is crucial for generating support to climate change action. Welcome address in the workshop was delivered by Prof. D. P. Agrawal, Chairman Governing Council, CCRI. Chief Guest Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog inaugurated the workshop. Shri Alok Kumar, Former Secretary, Ministry of Power Government of India delivered the Keynote Address. Eminent speakers for the workshop, a mix of academia and industry, shared their wisdom and advancements in research & development in CCUS. Fifteen delegates registered for the workshop from CIMFR, Dhanbad, MANIT, Bhopal, RKDF Bhopal, ISM Dhanbad, NEERI, Nagpur, NETRA, NTPC and Mr S. K. Singh, Strategic Trainers’ and Members Association, Patna. The delegates attended three days deliberations and listened to dignitaries with a keen interest to learn latest advancements in CCUS Technology, Policy and Regulations.

This World Environment Day 2025 event held by the Climate Change Research Institute included distinguished speakers viz., Prof. Vikram Vishal from IIT Bombay, Dr. V.A. Mendhe from CSIR-CIMFR Dhanbad, Dr. V. Ravi Babu from CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi, Shri Gautam Sen Ex-ONGC, Shri V. S. Verma Ex-Member CERC, Dr. K. Palanivelu from CCCE, VIT, Chennai, Dr. A. K. Singh, from PMRC Private Limited, Dhanbad, Dr. V. K. Sethi from RKDF University Bhopal, Dr. Dhiren Panda from JSW, Vijaynagar, Ms. Aparna Dutt Sharma from CMA, New Delhi, Shri R. S. Sharma former CMD,  NTPC, Dr. Avneesh Anshul from CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur, Dr. Balawant Joshi from IDAM Infrastructure and Dr. Swapnil Patil from NETRA, NTPC. Dr. Mahesh Kumar from CSIR, Shri Praveen Kumar from Central Electricity Authority, Dr. Jagvir Singh from MoES, Dr. Neelima Alam from DST, Ms. Deepti Sharma Dullu from CSIR, were among the distinguished speakers for the workshop. In the workshop On-line lecture were delivered by Prof. Michele Aresta (Virtual) from IC2R, Tecnopolis, Valenzano (BA), Italy on ‘Conversion of Carbon Dioxide into Chemicals and Fuels: A Strategic Technology for the Future’. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Neha G. Tripathi, Secretary EC, CCRI.
